Who: Children 1-3 years What: Art exploration $10 When: Wednesday's and Thursday's 10:30-12 Where: PlayMatters Why: Build sensory and art awareness and appreciation
Overview: Class
will start with a circle time. Circle time will consist of a greeting
song, and introduction to the activity, a story may also be read at
this time.
Goal: Children will be encouraged to play with the
activities presented, adult interaction is encouraged to help children
get the full experience. This is a time to build body awareness,
vocabulary and art appreciation.

February 3th & 4th - Gooey *Glue and Glitter: Squeeze and drip glue on to paper, put in a baggy full of sparkle and glitter. Take it out and you have sparkly design *Foot prints: Two colored paints will be set next to a large papered area, kids are encouraged to dip in feet and run, walk, and hop on the paper. *Colored noodle sensory: see, hear, sort and scoop and pour *Scented and brightly colored play dough *Music and scarves
February 10th & 11th - Colors *Colored vinegar droppers and baking soda see the colors mix, hear and see the fizzle *Whip Cream and Color: a whole body experience *Corn starch and color water squirters: corn starch feels weird dry, it gets even weirder wet. *Heart Collage *She’ll be coming round the mountain (music & movement)
February 17th & 18th - Bubbles *Scented bubble water in sensory tub *Jumping on bubble wrap *Slipper sponge painting. Sponges attach to knees, feet and hands *Blow bubbles. *Pop corn dancers with shakers
February 24th & 25th - Creation *Magazine cutting in a wadding pool. Rip and cut. Make confetti fun and toss it around when you are done. *Crayons on the floor, color as big as your imagination will let you. Trace your hand, foot, and friend *Spaghetti painting, cooked noodles in paint, you can use them as brushes, squish them, or just plop them on paper to make a design *Texture bags, fun, lumpy, colors in a bag, have fun, stay clean. *Freeze dance with shakers
